The "WHY"
Grocery shopping is still a task for some users. Some don’t have much time, some of them don't get great offers, many of them who shop for grocery online, find these apps too overwhelming to use.
Who is our user?
People of age range 30 - 65 years. Also, this app is only for the people living in Mumbai.
Goals
Identify challenges and frustrations that people encounter in grocery shopping, both in person and online, as well as opportunity areas for improving the shopping experience for the people living in Mumbai.
To build a profitable referral program to attract and engage more customers. Identify the pain points and hurdles faced by a certain demographic range of people while doing grocery shopping in local stores.
Challenges
Financial Constraints - Limited budget for user research, preventing one-on-one interviews and testing.
Remote Work - The project was conducted entirely remotely, posing challenges for in-depth local research.
Research and Analysis
In order to obtain useful information about how the store and the referral program should be designed, a survey was conducted on google forms as people are more familiar with google forms.
People Enjoy
1) People prefer doing online grocery shopping if they get good offers & rewards
2) Some of them enjoy shopping in supermarkets , meeting friends in their spare time.
Pain Points
In online grocery shopping -
1) Condition/Packaging of products in which they are delivered.
2) Wrong product delivery.
3) Difficulty in using grocery app.
In offline grocery shopping -
1) High Price, lesser discounts
2) Lack of Time
3) Carrying back all groceries to home is a task
User Story
Ashwini is a school teacher and happily married. She comes at home from school by 2 pm
and from 4 - 8pm she takes tuitions. She gets really tired after doing all this. This happens almost daily and she gets really exhausted at the end of the day. Her husband is also not there to help her during this as he works till 9pm in the office. They both get weekends to go and buy groceries for a whole week although sometimes if she gets time she goes and buys groceries in weekdays too. But she is really tired of all this.
As Ashwini, a busy school teacher in Mumbai, I want to be able to conveniently purchase groceries without the hassle of visiting physical stores after my exhausting workday, so that I can save time and energy for other tasks and activities.
Acceptance Criteria:
As Ashwini, I should be able to easily navigate the grocery app interface without encountering any difficulties, ensuring a seamless shopping experience.
The app should offer a wide range of products at competitive prices, providing me with the opportunity to save money on my grocery purchases.
I should be able to quickly add items to my cart and proceed to checkout without any complications, streamlining the shopping process.
The app should guarantee the quality and condition of the products delivered, ensuring that they meet my expectations and are not damaged during transit.
In case of any issues such as wrong product delivery, the app should provide efficient customer support and facilitate easy returns or replacements.
The app should offer attractive offers, rewards, and discounts to incentivize me to choose online grocery shopping over traditional methods and enhance my overall shopping experience.
As a user in the 30-65 age range, the app should be user-friendly and intuitive, catering to my specific needs and preferences as an older demographic.
The app should provide a scheduling feature that allows me to choose convenient delivery times, accommodating my busy schedule and ensuring timely delivery of groceries.
Additionally, the app should offer a referral program that rewards me for inviting friends and family to use the platform, creating a sense of engagement and incentivizing me to spread the word about the app to others.
